AED 8001 - AcoustiCalc® Silencer
Overview
The AED 8001 - AcoustiCalc® Silencer is a powerful tool for the acoustic design of silencers and silencer systems by simulating insertion loss and transmission loss. The functionality of the simulation software for silencers is based on the analytical description of the individual channel and silencer components as fourpoles according to linear network theory. All models are up-to-date and have been additionally numerically optimized by us. By connecting the individual components, the acoustic behavior of any and complete silencer systems can be calculated quickly and easily under defined operating conditions.

Acoustical consulting and design:
The silencer software is of interest to you if you are a consulting engineer and use and design a variety of silencer systems to reduce the noise emission of devices and machines and to comply with legally prescribed limits at the point of emission. Silencer systems are typically used in the following areas:

By selecting the appropriate geometric parameters and material parameters, you can optimize all silencer systems with regard to acoustic requirements. By flexibly combining individual components, geometrically complex silencers can also be built. The use of a special program option enables you to effectively test new sound-absorbing materials acoustically by directly evaluating the material-specific absorber parameters that you have measured with the AED 1000/1200 - AcoustiTube®.
Manufacturing of silencers:
The silencer software is also helpful if you are a manufacturer who develops, manufactures, and distributes series of silencer components that are used over a wide operating range. In this case, we can develop and implement mathematical descriptions for simulating the acoustic effectiveness of your own silencer components for you.
The silencer software offers you the following advantages:
It enables you to build your own product database that contains the acoustic effectiveness of each individual component. This means that you can always easily select the right component to meet the acoustic requirements. On request, we can also adapt our data structure to your products.
The accuracy of the prediction of the acoustic effectiveness of your specific silencer components can be optimized based on acoustic measurements on manufactured components. The measurement results are then directly incorporated into your company-specific calculation model. These adaptations are tailored to your manufacturing and are available to you exclusively.
