AED 7000 - AcoustiCam® Acoustic Camera
Overview

The AED 7000 - AcoustiCam® acoustic camera allows you to quickly and easily locate and separate sound sources. This is done by measuring with a large number of microphones (microphone array) and then processing the recorded microphone signals using analysis software. To visualize the sound situation, the localization result is overlaid with a photograph of the test object, similar to the use of a thermal imaging camera.

Principle of acoustic camera

The AED 7000 - AcoustiCam® uses the beamforming method to locate sound sources. The operation of this method can be explained by the way an elliptical cavity mirror works (see AcoustiCam® principle).
Software

The acoustic camera is supported by the analysis software AED 7001.

Localization, separation, and characterization of:
Stationary sound sources (stationary sound sources with quasi-stationary source signal) Non-stationary sound sources (moving sound sources / sound sources with transient source signal) Use of classical and new beamforming algorithms in: Time domain (e.g., Pass-By for objects moving at a constant speed) Frequency domain (e.g., orthogonal beamforming for separate localization of independent sound sources, removal of channel noise to increase signal-to-noise ratio) Characterization of sound sources: Mapping of the sound situation as a colored, two-dimensional, absolute mapping of the sound pressure level Visualization of the sound situation by overlaying a photograph of the test object (integrated camera, generation of single images and image sequences / videos) Generation and aurialization of the source signal (listen-in) Determination of sound pressure level spectra and local sound pressure level profiles Evaluation of trigger signals Support for arbitrary microphone arrangements
Analysis modes:
Continuous localization of sources (live mode) Unlimited recording duration (streaming)
Any repetition of analyses by post-processing with variable calculation parameters without re-measurement (e.g., choice of algorithms, subsequent deactivation and weighting of individual channels)
Import of external time data from previously performed microphone array measurements (ASCII format)
Export of calculation results as graphics, animation, or in ASCII format
